And that’s what the world needs right now.

Way back in the Garden of Eden, the choices of Adam and Eve condemned the world. They started out as unashamed. Gen 2:25

In Genesis 2, the Lord warned Adam to not partake of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. God warned if they disobeyed, the consequence would be death.

In Genesis 3, we learn of the serpent that tempted Eve and that ultimately, she and Adam gave in to that temptation. They had sinned against the Lord and became aware of their guilt and nakedness.

They also became very aware of their shame.

We have all sinned and fallen short. From that sin, we likely experience shame and guilt. Even breaking a rule as a child, we likely felt guilt and shame.

But in Jesus, we have forgiveness. We can release that guilt and shame.

And turn those feelings into our “redemption story”.

Those things meant to cause us harm. Actions that caused us to fall short.

Shame is a tool of the devil to keep us separated from not just Jesus, but also those around us who need to hear our redemption story. Because our stories come back to Jesus. And forgiveness.

And that’s what the world needs right now. More Jesus.
